User Experience Design
The primary objectives for the project were:
- Design a new website that reflects the company’s professionalism, expertise, and dedication to customer service
- Develop a user-friendly platform that improves the customer experience and increases engagement
- Increase online visibility and improve the company’s online reputation
- Implement a sale event listing with map support to help customers find sales events
- Implement a visitor location detection feature to show sales near the customer
- Implement filter and search functionality to help customers find sales events based on specific criteria
- Set up a WordPress backend to allow for easy management of sales events
- Implement an e-commerce subscription system to facilitate access to sales events
- Implement a membership system to give access to the events to subscribed members
- Allow customers to register for a sale event with 1 click
- Allow customers to log in with social media, specifically Facebook and Google
- In this phase, the team met with Aaron’s Estate Sales to determine the project’s objectives and requirements.
- The team gathered information on the client’s needs, preferences, and expectations for the new website.
- The design phase began with the team creating wireframes and mockups for the website. The team used Figma to design the website, creating several iterations of the design.
- The client provided feedback and the team made revisions to the design until the final design was approved.
Code and Design Review
- The coding phase began with the team coding the website using WordPress and WooCommerce.
- The team tested the website for functionality and usability, making sure that all the features, such as sale event listing with map support, visitor location detection, and filter and search functionality, were working correctly.
- During this phase, the team ensured that the website was live and functional, and the client was provided with a training session on how to use the WordPress backend and update the website’s content.
- The team conducted a final round of testing to ensure that the website was optimized for speed, mobile responsiveness, and search engine optimization (SEO).
Once the wireframes were finalized, we moved on to the visual design phase. We created a style guide that captured the brand’s personality, tone, and voice. The design included a color palette, typography, imagery, and other visual elements that were consistent with the brand’s values.
The new website for Aaron’s Estate Sales has been a success. The website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimized for search engines and mobile. The website features a sale event listing with map support, visitor location detection, and filter and search functionality, which have helped the client streamline their process for customers seeking estate liquidation services.
